Birds (34)

*

Sandhill Cranes, feeding in winter fields. Notice their size, compared to the pigeons in the foreground of the top picture. They are beautiful birds, with a distinct red patch on the top of their head, above the eyes. (Sorry to post more than one, but I couldn't decide which one I liked best.)

I wouldn't have been able to pick a favorite either! But, the second in-flight image is amazing. I've never seen these birds before, so thanks for sharing your images...

I love the bird coming in for a landing... you simply only get one chance at this one so because it's hard to capture, it's my favorite.

Linda, these are great. I have never seen a sandhill crane, and didn't realize they were quite so large! I especially like the one where the bird is flying at the camera and you get a good idea of it's wingspan. That's fantastic!

The bird photos are great and they are so unique. Your granddaughters dress is so sweet, we will need a photo of her in it next. HINT HINT

Excellent shots Linda! You captured the ones in flight very well. Birds are one of my favorite subjects and your shots are beautiful!
