I already posted my cactus theme photo, but now some of the cacti around here are beginning to bloom. I thought I'd share this shot that I took this evening, of my potted cactus on the back patio. For 11-1/2 months out of the year it's a grizzly, ugly pot of spiny cacti. But for the two weeks or so that it blooms, I think it's lovely, and makes up for the other months.

They are beautiful in bloom - too bad its such a short time.
I remember having a little potted cactus garden indoors but I could never get them to bloom.
PatB, you probably gave them too much care. This poor potted cactus just sits, ignored, all year round. And yet, come spring, it breaks out in this riot of color!
