Red (70)

In New Mexico, in the late summer and early fall, red chiles are strung to dry, so that the chiles can be eaten year round. It's an old belief that these "chile ristras," hung in front of a home, both welcome visitors and bring the home owner good fortune.

I used a Photoshop Elements filter on this one to add poster edges, giving it more of an artisitic appearance. You might need to click to see it larger in order to clearly see the effect.

There are always some of those hanging at Pike Place Market...and I always think they are too pretty to actually pull out peppers and use them!
