The pueblo Indians who live in this area still bake their bread in TRADITIONAL outdoor ovens, like this, called hornos.

How interesting! Have you tried any of the bread cooked in that way? Does it taste better than normally cooked bread?

Yes, I have eaten the bread baked in the outdoor ovens,and it is very good. I can't say it tastes a lot different than other homemade bread, but ... homemade bread is hard to beat, wherever it is baked! The loaves they bake in these ovens are round loaves.
